Guys!! Since wala pa rin thread dito, magpapa-kapal na ako ng mukha na magStart ng Topic!

Bahista rin ako minsan, I'm not good with slap and pop technique. There are some techniques na gusto ko pag ibayuhin sa slap and pop kagaya na lang ng triplet, etc..
Kaya for now mas prefer ko ang i-Apply ang Blues Scale pag gumagamit ako ng bass gutar. hehe..

How about you? Please Share your forte to others especially to me.. hehehe!!
You can also post some links of great videos or refer some artist that we can listen to and acquire some new skill.

Thanks!!

Learn it by heart, play it by heart.

para sakin

depende sa genre ng kanta.

pero natutuwa ako sa slap and pop.
then nilalagyan ko rin ng hammer.
pero pag slow natutuwa ako pag ginagawa naming R&B yung genre.
but the ang strength talaga ng bass kapag nag click sila ni drummer

yun lang ang sakin

I also play bass guitar! I

I also play bass guitar!

I have a 5 string bass guitar

my style of playing depends on the drummer I am playing with,

both drummer and bassest go hand and hand when playing,

there are many different styles to play and I find jazz to be the most technical.

aaroniica, best advice is to practice the coordination of your left and right hand first. (yung kung ano yung tipa mo sa left dapat un ang kakalabitin ng right) it doesn't really matter kung maliit o malaki kamay mo kasi when you practice nag a-adapt yung kamay mo sa bass strings, sasakit kamay mo and after a while of practicing, sasakit first ung left hand mo ksi mgdedevelop na ng muscles yan to cope up ang progress na gngw mo and then right arm mo naman ang sasakit and next is kapag practis ka na ng simple chord scale/s kalyo naman sa tip ng fingers mo and magkakaroon.

no pain, no gain. :)

practice makes perfect!

God bless u!

Para sa mga newbies in bass

Para sa mga newbies in bass playing you can search these guys sa youtube (or whatever video streaming sites you know as long as you can find them in their databases)

International Bass Players:
Victor Wooten
Jaco Pastorius
Marcus Miller
Abraham Laboriel
Billy Sheehan

Pinoy Bass Players:
Bong Gonzales
Rommel De La Cruz
Karel Honasan

I hope these guys will encourage you to play bass like you've never before :)
and not discourage you... Remember, all these guys started like us.
*newbie bass players, but they didn't stop learning until they reached kung nasan man sila ngayon.

Try researching din for practice videos.

God Bless!

pop and pluck...

its good to have a mixtures of techniques when it comes to bass. Glad to hear some early post on this thread introducing their varieties of styles.

Im not that "jalimaws" kind im still on the process of learning and developing my craft. one of the chops currently I'm in is this "POP (thumb) & PLUCK (index+middle finger) + percussive (by the left hand). you'll sound awesome if this combinations applied with more wider imagination and feel.

for further details i'll post more.

God Bless!!!
