Some people might find it surprisingly difficult when it comes to facilitating church meetings, gatherings, and what the not. From Merriam Webster's Dictionary, it just simple means:

Main Entry: fa•cil•i•tate
Pronunciation: \fə-ˈsi-lə-ˌtāt\
Function: transitive verb
: to make easier : help bring about <facilitate growth>

You are the facilitator so basically, your the one among the group, who had the first hand basis of what you're about to discuss. I claim no ownership on this article below but my sole purpose is to share this to most of you guys. Have a blessed reading!

Here are the top 10 tips the author cites from QUALITY DIGEST.

1. Unpack the agenda.
Leave extra time to cover discussion, questions, ect. (less is more)

2. Avoid the back-to-back class drawback.
Ensure you have adequate time between meetings or sessions.

3. Practice image training.
Mentally walk through the session to help you better prepare.

4. Respect the PowerPoint power law.
For every PowerPoint presentation, after the 10th slide, attention and interest drop off precipitously...again, less is more...

5. Just stop by the jargon junction.
Avoid technical terms, setup a “jargon junction” white board or flip chart paper in a high-traffic...to introduce any new terms.

6. Make lists.
Organize the thoughts of the group into a numbered set by saying, “Let’s review. I hear you saying three things... ” or giving the objectives for the next hour in numbered fashion gives people a sense of order and time.

7. Put the agreement in writing.
When the group comes to consensus on a point, have them write it down in their own words.

8. Body language blindness.
It’s not what you say; it’s how you say it. A facilitator should practice and exhibit positive and appropriate body language. When picking up on someone else's body language, it's sometimes better to allow the situation to play out rather than try to intervene.

9. Talk less.
Facilitators need to activate the group, rerail derailed conversations, ask the group questions, then shut up. The more the group members speak, the more they expose the issues.

10. Take and use feedback immediately.
Ensure you take time to conduct the + / Δ in person with the group.

Memorizing scripture doesn't make you a Christian any more than memorizing the periodic table makes you a scientist.
